JOSE S. ARCILLA, S.J. is a Professor at the Department of History, Ateneo de Manila University. he holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and letters from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain and has written extensively on the Spanish colonial presence in the Philippines. He has authored numerous books and articles on various topics such as Jesuit mission history and Philippine history in general. He is also director and curator of the Philippine Jesuit Province Archives.CRISTINA MANALO BAUTISTA is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Ateneo de Manila University, where she obtained her Master's degree and is also currently pursuing her doctoral degree. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Her academic interests are in development economics, particularly at the micro-level and international economics. Her master's thesis was on intrahousehold time allocation. her interest in education lie in research and teaching within the university and also in training other professionals such as teachers from the public schools.EDSEL L. BEJA, JR. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Ateneo de Manila University and is deputy director of the Ateneo Center for Economics Research and Development (ACERD). He has degrees in economics and geography and obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. He works on the areas of capital, trade and labor flows; poverty reduction and pro-poor growth and policy reforms; and international political economy. His papers have been published in Capital Flight and Capital Controls in Developing Countries, edited by Gerald Epstein; Negotiating Globalizations, edited by Lydia Yu-Jose, Kasarinlan: Philippine Journal of Third World Studies; the Asia Pacific Business Review and by the United Nations department of Economics and Social Affairs.NOEL P. DE GUZMAN is an Assistant Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Economics, Ateneo de Manila University. he holds a Master of Social Science (Economics) degree from the National University of Singapore and has recently completed a Ph.D. in Economics from fordham University, New york, USA.KARINA GALANG FERNANDEZ is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Ateneo de Manila University, where she also recently completed her Ph.D. in Psychology. Her fields of specialization are in the areas of developmental, counseling and clinical Psychology. She is currently doing other research on resiliency, academic achievement and social support. She is also a practicing psychotherapist working with adolescents and young adults with emotional problems.ESTELLE MARIE LADRIDO is an Instructor at the department of Communication, Ateneo de Manila University where she also serves as the Director for the Center for Communication Research and Training (CCRT) and the Multimedia Information Resource laboratory (MIR-lab). She completed her Master of Arts in Communication also at the Ateneo, where she studies representations of national identity on transcultural television products. She is interested in media advocacy towards more inclusive access to forms of media, primarily television. She also works as an independent television producer and has produced documentaries and television programs for Jesuit communications (JESCOMM).MA. ELIZABETH J. MACAPAGAL is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology, Ateneo de Manila University. She received her M.A. in Social Psychology from the Claremont Graduate University in california, USA in 1995 and her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the Ateneo in 2003. She has published books and articles on general psychology, people power, political psychology and gender socialization. She is currently coordinator of the M.A. Applied Social Psychology program of her department and was a former member of the board of directors of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP). She was also a former editor of the Loyola Schools Review, Social Sciences edition, Volume IV, 2005.CRISTINA J. MONTIEL is a Professor at the Psychology department, Ateneo de Manila University, where she coordinates the Ph.d. in Socialorganizational Psychology program. She is also associate editor of Peace and Conflict: Journal of Peace Psychology. She has carried out teaching and research visits to Xiamen University (china), National University of Malaysia, University of Hawaii, Ohio State University, Georgetown University, Whitman college, Technical University of Chemnitz (Germany) and the Australian National University. She has received the outstanding Service Award from the division of Peace Psychology of the American Psychological Association, the distinguished contribution Award from Psychologists for Social Responsibility and was in the first group of Senior Research fellows of the Nippon foundation's Asian Public Intellectuals (API) program. Her recent publications include Toward a Psychology of Structural Peacebuilding (2001), Peace Psychology in Asia (2003) and Political Psychology of Nonviolent Democratic Transitions in Southeast Asia (2006).STEPHEN HENRY S. TOTANES is Associate Professor at the Department of History, Ateneo de Manila University. He earned his Ph.D. in history from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, where he studied the history of the principalia in Kabikolan during the period of the American occupation. He was one of the founders and first director of the Institute of Bikol History and Culture (IBHC) at the Ateneo de Naga University. He recently returned from a fulbright Senior Scholar fellowship at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and Santa Clara University in California, USA, where he studied the Franciscan Missions in the American Southwest in conjunction with Franciscan missionary activities in Kabikolan.
