A field experiment to study the effect ofherbicides mixturation on weed and vegetativegrowth of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.)was conducted in Gratitunon, Grati - Pasuruanfrom June to September 2006. The experimentwas arranged in randomized complete blockdesign which consist of 7 levels of weed controltreatments and three replications. The treatmentswere G0 = without weed control, G1 = ametryneherbicide (3 kg ha-1), G2 = 2.4-D herbicide (1.5 lha-1), G3 = ametryne + 2.4-D herbicide (3 kg ha-1+ 1.5 l ha-1), G4 = ametryne + 2.4-D herbicide(2.25 kg ha-1 + 1.125 l ha-1), G5 = ametryne +2.4-D herbicide (1.5 kg ha-1 + 0.75 l ha-1), G6 =ametryne + 2.4-D herbicide (0.75 kg ha-1 +0.375 l ha-1). The result showed that applicationof the mixture herbicides (2.4-D + ametryne)more effective to control weed than unmixtureherbicides. Application of herbicide to controlweed increased vegetative growth of sugarcanecompared to unweeding treatment. Theapplication of mixture herbicide did not causetoxicity on the sugarcane plant.
