This research was done on Sleman RegencyYogyakarta during 2004 dry season. The goal ofthis research was to know the effect of paddy strawand soil management which inhibited the mungbeangrowth and the effect of allellochemical contents.Result of the research showed that the completelyland preparation incorporating with stubbletreatment gave the highest inhibition of mungbeangrowth especially to plant height, leaf area, and dryweight of canopy due to nitrogenase activity of themungbean nodules.
